September: Holly Althouse
I started yoga 10 years ago and was totally hooked after my first studio class. I appreciated the sense of peace, stillness, and connection that I experienced from practice. Soon afterwards, Sherry Zak introduced me to Baptiste Power yoga and I felt plugged in from the ground up: anchored, in my center, powerful, and alive. These are all the words and principles you’ll hear me speak about the most in my classes.
I’ve been teaching at Halifax Yoga for about 5 years now. I love the community and space HY provides. It is a place where I can count on to be challenged, inspired, and supported. I am in awe, weekly, by the growth and change I see from the mat and around the studio!
I teach Restorative yoga Monday mornings, a Baptiste inspired “Shake Your Asana” class Thursday evenings, and a Spynga class Monday and Friday evenings. If you haven’t tried a Spynga class yet – go! It’s so much fun and incredible workout. Class finishes with 30 minutes of yin yoga, so you leave feeling relaxed and renewed from the inside out.
All people of all backgrounds and levels are welcome to my classes. I offer modifications and variations to suit the diverse individual needs in a group. I also love to offer extra help or chat about yoga- so feel free to come early or stay after class!
See you on the mat soon!
